Preventing radicalization to violent extremism remains a high-priority and a confounding problem—radicalization to violent extremism has proven itself a fractured, idiosyncratic, and rare phenomenon that defies easy modelling or risk assessments. The realities of radicalization have greatly complicated efforts to design and implement effective prevention and intervention programs in our communities. Yet numerous community-based organizations have tried to use engagement efforts in order to improve the chances of identifying and intervening with radicalizing individuals.

Join us for this Research for the Real World seminar where three internationally-renowned experts from the research and practitioner arenas will discuss how community policing can be used to prevent violent extremism and reduce violence within communities.
