NCJ Number
206129
Date Published
April 2003
Length
34 pages
Annotation
Intended as a follow-up to the brochure by the same title, this Resource Guide is a comprehensive listing of sources of information and guidance for law enforcement officials, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and other public safety officers who may be among the first responders to a terrorist attack in which a nonnuclear radiological device is used.
Abstract
The selected resources will assist departments and agencies in developing and updating their policies, procedures, and training. The listings are divided into the following categories: procedural guidelines, personnel training, response resources, equipment funding, and general information. Almost all of the resources listed can be accessed through their Internet address. In addition to title and Web site address, each listing contains a brief summary of the resource's content. The appendix provides general contact information for Federal Government agencies that are responsible for planning and implementing responses to a radiological attack. Each agency listing contains the name of the agency, its address, and, where applicable, an Internet address e-mail, and fax number. The guide has approximately 150 listings.
