This report presents the 1999 recipients of the Herman Goldstein Award for Excellence in Problem-Oriented Policing (POP).
Abstract
The Herman Goldstein Award recognizes outstanding police officers and police agencies, both in the United States and around the world, for innovative and effective problem-solving efforts and measurable success in reducing specific crime, disorder, and public safety problems. The report includes a brief review of the evolution of POP, descriptions of themes among problems and strategies, project highlights, and evidence of POP's effectiveness.
